Smiles for Sophie

Sophie Quayle is the daughter of my cousin Marcus Quayle and his wife Emily.
Their beautiful daughter was diagnosed with a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma. This type of tumor is located in the brainstem, at the base of the brain. It is diagnosed primarily in children and is the rarest and worst of pediatric brain tumors. There are approximately 150 to 200 kids diagnosed each year and survival time is typically 9 to 12 months following diagnosis.

Sophie's family has set up a blog just like this one at www.smilesforsophie.com . Her story is a heartbreaking tale of courage. Please keep Sophie in your prayers as she fights for a miracle.

Is Marc Quayle isn't your first cousin, right? How are you related?

Marcus and I share the same maternal great grandmother on my mom's side, my Grandma Appell

How very brave Marc and his family are. Sophie is a beautiful child and she will be in my prayers always. God loves the little children; he always listens, he just isn't always able to give us what we pray for.
